Summer is here, and pony club activities are in full swing, just for fun, here are all the ponies and riders you’ll find at Pony Club Camp this summer. Enjoy!
Puzzle the Coloured Cob
Puzzle can’t believe his luck sleeping in a giant shavings stable with a HUGE haynet, he may need some extra encouragement trotting around those whiteboards. However, get him in front of a working hunter course and he shows you what he’s made of!! His owner Sam can be found covered in purple shampoo and white chalk not wanting to let his team down with extra poo-coloured patches on his pony…
Nelly the Welsh Section A
At least 37 years young, Nelly is back at Pony Club Camp for the 30th year in a row, she’s been dragged out of the field because Nancy’s pony went lame the week before camp (tactical). Nelly can’t wait for the countless baths, grooming and extra food over the next few days, with a heart of gold she’ll make sure Nancy gets plenty of rosettes and awards but might throw in a buck or two just because falling off is the best way to learn, right?!
Poppet the Exmoor pony
Poppet had to convince the DC that she wasn’t in fact in foal just an expert muzzle remover, her owner Holly has entirely colour-coordinated her camp kit – purple grooming brushes, purple wheelbarrow, purple numnah, you name it… it’s purple. Much to her annoyance when she finds out the PC camp t-shirts this year are bright yellow, she throws a huff then swiftly remembers it’s BBQ night and she gets to roast marshmallows on the fire. Poppet will make it her mission to ensure Holly burns off all those marshmallows by tanking off around the show jumping field the next day…
Moose the Unicorn-Shaped Connemara
Moose has been scrubbed and polished within an inch of his life, his owner Becky spent 5 hours cleaning his tack but forgot to pack her underwear. Moose prances into his camp stable and immediately makes himself a poop-shaped pillow, Becky sighs but loves him so much she doesn’t mind. Becky gets a special camp award for using a record amount of purple shampoo. Moose ensures everyone knows he’s the best by clearing all show jumps with an extra 60cm clearance and flicking his sassy shiny toes around the whiteboards.
Last but not least… Zuess the Shetland
He may be donned in grass reins, but he has mastered bending his front legs so his rider Polly rolls down his neck, giving him at least 10 seconds to munch as much grass as possible. He’s the boss of the other ponies in his group and is an expert in pulling faces when the instructor isn’t looking. Unfortunately for Zuess, his size and colour mean he’s the ideal candidate for a lesson about the equine muscular system, so he leaves the session looking ready for Halloween… 👻
